Kurtosh – my new favorite pastry…
Found the Kurtosh aka hungarian chimney cake while in the land down under
These cylinders of heaven above are called Kurtosh aka Hungarian Chimney cake. While out in Australia my new friends @Brodyone & @mischaism introduced me to this delicious pastry, found at the bakery of the same name Kurtosh.
They are made to order in about 7 minutes or so. So simple, yet so delicious. If anyone knows where I can get these in the NYC area, PLEASE Let me know.
In this case we got the “regular flavor” . Peep the pictures below. Dough is rolled out flat, and in this case nutella is filled in it. It gets wrapped around what looks like a rolling pin, covered in sugar and put in this special oven, and then Voila! You get this great pastry that you have to uncurl to eat.
This is now in my favorite pastry list for sure. Find it in australia, and I assume Hungary;) .
